An inclusive and forward-thinking secondary school in the London Borough of Newham is seeking to appoint a skilled Modern Foreign Languages Teacher from September. This full-time, long-term role offers the opportunity to teach French and/or Spanish to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, with the potential for Key Stage 5 depending on experience.

Role Responsibilities:

Teach French, Spanish, or both, depending on your specialism, across KS3 and KS4

Deliver well-planned, engaging lessons aligned with national curriculum and GCSE requirements

Support pupils’ spoken and written fluency, while building a strong understanding of grammar and vocabulary

Encourage cultural understanding and language immersion through creative and interactive teaching approaches

Track student progress and adapt teaching to ensure inclusive and differentiated learning

Contribute to departmental planning and enrichment, including potential language trips, clubs, or cultural events
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
✔ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
✔ Experience teaching French and/or Spanish in a UK secondary school
✔ Strong knowledge of the MFL curriculum and current assessment frameworks
✔ Excellent communication and classroom management skills
✔ A passion for languages, intercultural understanding, and student achievement
✔ A collaborative and reflective teaching approach, with a commitment to continuous professional development
