Join Protocol Education as a Mental Health Support Worker / Learning Mentor in Southend!
Are you ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people?
Do you have a background in social care, experience supporting individuals with SEND, or simply a passion for helping vulnerable children thrive?
Protocol Education is currently recruiting on behalf of a supportive and inclusive Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Southend, and we’re looking for compassionate and resilient individuals to join the team as a Learning Support Assistant / Teaching Assistant.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with children who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You’ll play a vital role in helping them engage with their learning and feel supported throughout the school day.
What we’re looking for:
-
A genuine passion for working with children and young people with special educational needs
-
A calm, nurturing and positive approach to behaviour and learning
-
The ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students
-
Resilience, patience and adaptability — no two days are the same!
-
Previous experience in education, social care, or personal experience supporting SEND is a bonus — but not essential!
The role:
-
Full-time, long-term position (Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm)
-
Based in a PRU setting in Southend-on-Sea
-
Supporting students with SEMH needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
-
Working alongside a dedicated and friendly staff team
If you’re enthusiastic, empathetic and ready to make a real impact, we’d love to hear from you.
