Protocol Education is currently working with a welcoming and inclusive SEN secondary school in Barking, who are seeking a full-time Maths Teacher to join their team from September.
This is a fantastic opportunity to teach Maths in a nurturing environment, where class sizes are small and support is strong. You’ll be helping students aged 11–16 to develop their mathematical skills at a pace and level suited to their individual needs, building both their confidence and academic progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver differentiated Maths lessons tailored to students with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD and moderate learning difficulties.
- Create a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom environment where every student can thrive.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider SEN team to provide consistent, high-quality support.
- Develop personalised learning plans and contribute to students’ EHCP targets.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback that supports development.
About You:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential.
- Experience working with students with SEN is highly desirable.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
- Empathetic, patient, and resilient – with a genuine commitment to inclusive education.
- A collaborative team player with excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
