Protocol Education are currently recruiting for a Library Manager to work in a thriving secondary school in central Bristol. The school is well known for their high expectations of results, ethos & values to learn in a community together where all can achieve and develop into the best versions of themselves.
Your role as a Library Manager will include;
Maintaining the school library as a resource base to support work in the curriculum, ensuring the library is well stocked and regularly updated with relevant and community based materials that are beneficial to all year groups, including managing and leading research. Assisting students to find library resources and closely support departments with resources and reading materials as well as writing and delivering library lessons for students. Organising events to promote reading pleasure, such as book clubs, competitions, library & author visits, as well as supporting students with using the library, understanding systems and undertaking inductions. You will also be responsible for supervising and recording the attendance and behaviour of Sixth Form and out of lesson students to maintain a positive, wecoming and quiet learning environment within the library. You may be working with Library Assistants which would involve your leadership and performance management to ensure a supportive and effective working environment.
The school are looking for the candidate to have a positive attitude that reflects the the values of the school and has the passion and ability to help create a wide ethos for reading for pleasure. This role would be ideal for a Librarian looking to take the next step in their career or someone with a strong literature background with the passion to support students and develop their knowledge and love for reading and have leadership skills that would transfer well into a school team.
