A primary specialist provision in Gateshead is seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistants to join their dedicated team. The school caters to children aged 3 to 11 with a range of disabilities, including severe learning disabilities, autism, profound and multiple learning disabilities, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and speech and language communication disorders. The school operates with a caring and supportive ethos that values all individuals, promoting equality of opportunity for disabled people, including pupils, staff, parents, carers, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with complex needs, assisting in their learning and development.

  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to implement individual education plans.

  • Support the delivery of the curriculum, ensuring accessibility for all students.

  • Foster an inclusive environment that promotes respect, dignity, and equality.

  • Assist in the assessment and monitoring of pupil progress.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs and disabilities.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
