We’re working with a dedicated special school in Gateshead that puts communication, respect, and inclusion at the heart of everything they do. Their mission? Helping pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties thrive through tailored support and a nurturing environment.

They’re looking for a skilled Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join their team, someone who understands the power of connection and can bring a calm, proactive approach to supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), autism, and complex needs

  • Supporting communication through AAC, Makaton, or other tailored methods (training can be provided)

  • Assisting with personal care and sensory programmes

  • Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to create meaningful learning experiences

What we’re looking for:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)

  • Experience supporting children with SEND — especially complex needs or PMLD

  • Confidence with personal care and moving & handling (training available if needed)

  • A warm, patient, and adaptable approach with a genuine commitment to inclusion
