Level 3 Teaching Assistant
Location: Shrewsbury, Shropshire
Protocol Education is working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Shrewsbury to recruit a Level 3 Teaching Assistant. The school is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic individual to join their team and support pupils academically and pastorally.
About the Role:
You will work closely with the teaching team and other support staff to ensure a positive and engaging learning environment. The role includes assisting in class, supporting pupils with SEND and social/emotional needs, and covering classes when required.
Key Responsibilities:

Supporting pupils in their learning and personal development
-
Implementing behaviour strategies and supporting positive classroom management

Working under the direction of the class teacher, while also taking initiative and ownership of tasks

Providing 1:1 or group support, including for children with SEN
-
Supervising pupils during lunch periods as required

Delivering pre-planned lessons in the teacher’s absence (when needed)
Requirements:

Level 3 qualification in Teaching and Learning (or equivalent e.g. HLTA)

Experience working in a primary school setting

Understanding of supporting children with social, emotional, and additional learning needs

Strong literacy and numeracy skills
-
Organised, proactive, and professional approach
-
Commitment to supporting the Catholic ethos and mission of the school (faith not required but respect and support for the ethos is essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
