Level 3 SEND Teaching Assistant – Newcastle

Pay: £89–£110 per day (PAYE – no umbrella faff)

We’re working with a brilliant specialist setting in Newcastle looking for a Level 3 TA to join their team this September. The school supports children and young people aged 3–16 with a mix of additional needs—from complex learning difficulties to autism and SEMH. It's a warm, purpose-built place where aspiration, kindness, and real care come first.
What you’ll be doing:

Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups across Primary and/or Secondary

Helping learners build confidence, communication, and independence

Using therapeutic strategies and de-escalation techniques to support emotional regulation

Collaborating with a fab team of teachers, therapists, and families to ensure consistent care
You’ll need:

A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)

Experience working with SEND (e.g. ASD, SEMH, PMLD, complex needs)

Confidence with PECS, Makaton, or sensory approaches
-
A calm, encouraging nature with great behaviour support skills
