Level 2 SEND Teaching Assistant – Gateshead
Full-time | Long-term | £89–£110 per day

We’re working with a specialist school in Gateshead that supports children with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), autism, and complex needs. They’re looking for a caring, flexible Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. If you’ve got a heart for helping children with SEND — and the patience to meet each pupil where they are — this could be the perfect next step for you.
What you’ll be doing:

Supporting pupils with a range of SEND, including complex needs and autism

Assisting with communication, sensory activities, and personal care

Working closely with teachers and therapists to support learning and wellbeing

Helping to create a positive, structured classroom environment
We’d love to hear from you if you have:

A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or relevant experience)

Experience supporting children with SEND in school, care, or youth settings
-
A calm, kind approach with a strong sense of teamwork

A willingness to learn new skills, like Makaton, PECS, or sensory strategies (training available)
