Level 2 SEND Teaching Assistant – Gateshead
Full-time | Long-term | £89–£110 per day

Looking for a role where every small step makes a big difference?
We’re working with a specialist school in Gateshead that supports children with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), autism, and complex needs. Their focus is on creating a safe, inclusive environment where every pupil’s voice is heard — whether spoken, signed, or shown through smiles and small wins.

They’re looking for a caring, flexible Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. If you’ve got a heart for helping children with SEND — and the patience to meet each pupil where they are — this could be the perfect next step for you.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting pupils with a range of SEND, including complex needs and autism

  • Assisting with communication, sensory activities, and personal care

  • Working closely with teachers and therapists to support learning and wellbeing

  • Helping to create a positive, structured classroom environment

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or relevant experience)

  • Experience supporting children with SEND in school, care, or youth settings

  • A calm, kind approach with a strong sense of teamwork

  • A willingness to learn new skills, like Makaton, PECS, or sensory strategies (training available)

Why this role?
Join a school that’s known for its nurturing ethos, skilled staff, and real commitment to inclusion. Based in Gateshead, this setting gives you the chance to be part of a team making a meaningful impact every single day.

With Protocol Education, you’ll get:
