Protocol Education is working with a well-established SEMH alternative provision in Southend that is looking to appoint a dedicated and resilient Learning Support Assistant for the new academic year starting September 2025.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive specialist setting that works with pupils across KS1–KS4 who present with a range of complex needs including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, autism, communication needs, and other barriers to learning.
The Role:
You’ll be supporting students with additional needs, helping them to engage with their learning and reach their potential. Working alongside teachers and support staff, you’ll play a key role in building trust, promoting positive behaviour, and providing tailored academic and emotional support.
We’re looking for someone who:

Has experience or a strong interest in working with pupils with SEMH and related needs

Brings patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to classroom support

Can work flexibly and adapt to meet the needs of different students

Is confident working across a range of key stages (KS1 to KS4)
