Are you on the lookout for a new opportunity as a SEND Learning Support Assistant based in the Romford area?

Well, look no further. We are currently seeking an experienced special needs Learning Support Assistant for various primary schools in Romford. We’re looking for someone confident and compassionate, with experience supporting a range of SEN needs in the classroom.

You’ll be working in a supportive and creative environment, helping children thrive and reach their full potential.

Job Duties:

  • Support: Provide 1:1 support to students with SEN in a classroom setting

  • Collaborate: Assist teachers in implementing individual education plans tailored to each student’s needs

  • Engage: Supervise and support students during activities, helping them understand instructions and stay on task

  • Behaviour Support: Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour using positive reinforcement and effective behaviour management strategies

  • Communication: Build strong relationships with teachers, parents, and other professionals while maintaining clear and accurate records of student progress

  • Inclusion: Contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom culture to help students feel welcome and supported

Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK

  • Valid DBS check (or willingness to apply for one)

  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs

  • A good understanding of different learning styles and how to adapt teaching strategies accordingly

  • Excellent communication skills, patience, and empathy
