Job Duties:

  • Providing support to students with learning difficulties or disabilities
  • Assisting in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Supporting classroom teachers in delivering lessons and activities
  • Helping students with personal care needs, if required
  • Monitoring and recording student progress and behaviour

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Experience working with children or young adults with special educational needs

Education:

Relevant training in special educational needs (SEN) would be advantageous

Experience:

Prior experience in a similar role within an educational setting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of different learning needs and strategies to support them
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Patience and empathy when working with students

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • First Aid certification

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily within a school setting
  • May involve some physical activity and assisting with personal care
  • Full-time hours, Monday to Friday

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
