Job title: Learning Mentor – Secondary

Pay: £105–£120 per day

Are you the kind of person who can think on your feet and keep a busy classroom calm?
We’re looking for a resilient and proactive Learning Mentor to join a secondary school in Newcastle. This is a hands-on role, ideal if you’re confident managing behaviour and supporting pupils who sometimes need a little extra guidance.
You’ll be the person who keeps learning moving forward – sometimes working 1:1, sometimes stepping in when a teacher is absent, and always keeping students engaged.
What you’ll be doing:

Supporting pupils with behaviour and emotional needs

Working with teachers to create a positive, focused learning environment

Stepping in to supervise classes and keep lessons on track when needed

Building strong relationships so pupils feel supported and understood
What we’re looking for:

Strong behaviour management and resilience – someone calm under pressure

A knack for improvising and thinking on your feet

Previous experience working with young people (schools, youth work, coaching or similar)

Excellent communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
