Learning Mentor – Secondary Schools

Newcastle upon Tyne
£100 – £120 per day (PAYE, no umbrella deductions)
Full-time and long-term roles available

Want to make a real difference to young people who need extra support in school? We’re looking for dedicated Learning Mentors to join Newcastle secondary schools and help pupils build confidence, resilience, and a positive attitude towards learning.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group mentoring for pupils who need extra support

  • Helping students develop behaviour, social, and emotional skills

  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to keep pupils engaged in learning

  • Acting as a positive role model, encouraging attendance, focus, and achievement

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience working with young people (school, youth work, mentoring, coaching, or similar)

  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships

  • Confidence to handle challenging behaviour and provide calm guidance

  • A genuine commitment to supporting students’ wellbeing and success
