Are you a graduate with a passion for supporting young people? Protocol Education is working in partnership with a variety of welcoming and inclusive secondary schools across Tyne and Wear, seeking enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join their teams this term.

These schools vary in size and character. Some are large Catholic secondary academies with a strong community ethos and excellent facilities, supporting students from diverse backgrounds to achieve their best both academically and personally. Others are large urban secondary schools known for their inclusive approach, celebrating cultural diversity and providing tailored support to students with additional learning needs. You may also work within high-achieving mainstream academies with a reputation for outstanding pastoral care, where staff are committed to nurturing every student’s ambitions.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside dedicated teaching staff to support students with special educational needs or learning barriers. Your role will involve helping individuals engage in lessons, build their confidence, and achieve their personal goals. This is an ideal opportunity to gain hands-on classroom experience essential for teacher training or educational psychology pathways in the future.

We have roles available across Newcastle upon Tyne, Gateshead, South Shields, North Shields, Sunderland, Washington, Hebburn, Jarrow, Whitley Bay, Tynemouth, Wallsend, Boldon, Houghton-le-Spring, Blaydon, Ryton, and Birtley.

We are looking for graduates in any discipline who have a genuine interest in education, excellent communication skills, and a patient, empathetic approach. You must be available for full-time work, Monday to Friday.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
