We’re looking for a compassionate and committed Individual Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN) at a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Chelmsford.

What the role involves:

Providing personalised support during lessons, play, and transitions

Helping the pupil develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning

Working closely with the SENCO and class teacher to follow tailored strategies

Supporting emotional regulation and social interaction in a calm, positive way
-
Being a bridge between school, family, and outside professionals
What we’re looking for:

Experience working with children with SEN (autism, ADHD, communication needs, or similar)

A calm, patient approach with a big heart and a listening ear

Confidence using a range of support strategies to promote learning and positive behaviour

Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
