Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Specialist ASC Provision

We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our specialist Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) provision in Huddersfield. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with autism while working within a supportive and dynamic educational environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support to the teaching staff in planning, delivering, and evaluating lessons and activities, specifically tailored to meet the needs of students with autism.
- Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies, promoting the social, emotional, and academic development of students.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring that students feel supported and engaged.
- Offer one-on-one support to students with autism, both inside and outside the classroom, providing guidance, encouragement, and assistance as required.
- Collaborate with the teaching team and other professionals, such as speech and language therapists and occupational therapists, to ensure a cohesive and holistic approach to student support.
- Monitor and track student progress, documenting observations and reporting back to the relevant staff members.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with autism or ASC is highly desirable.
- A genuine passion for supporting the educational and emotional development of students with special educational needs.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/guardians.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
- An understanding of relevant safeguarding procedures and a commitment to promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
