Higher Level Teacher Assistant (HLTA)  Opportunity in Leeds area!

Are you someone who is passionate about supporting children to be their very best? We’re on the hunt for a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a warm and welcoming primary school in the Leeds area.

Location: Leeds

Hours: Full term (term time only)

Salary: £110- £130

Start Date: As soon as possible

About this role:

As a HLTA, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. You will be working in a friendly and welcoming primary school which prides itself on creating a nurturing and engaging environment, where every pupil and educator feels valued, appreciated and supported.

Your role will include:

  • Leading class activities and stepping up to teach in the absence of a teacher.
  • Supporting pupils with a variety of additional needs, with creativity and confidence to help every child thrive.
  • Deliver targeted interventions to boost literacy, numeracy and social skills.
  • Working closely with teachers and support staff to deliver engaging, inclusive lessons.
  • Providing high quality pastoral support and help manage classroom behaviour.
  • Taking initiative and owning areas of responsibility.

We’re looking for someone who:

ü  Holds HLTA status or a recognised equivalent qualification.

ü  Has solid classroom experience and is confident in delivering lessons.

ü  Loves working as part of a team, but also shines when taking the lead.

ü  A positive and proactive attitude with strong behaviour management strategies.

ü  Energetic personality and strong communication skills.

ü  Passionate about supporting children’s learning and wellbeing.
