Wakefield
Full-time | Term-time only
£90 – £130 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
Start: ASAP

We’re on the lookout for a cracking Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to jump into a full-time role in one of our lovely partner schools in Wakefield. If you’ve got a knack for leading a class, calming a storm, and pulling the best out of every child—you might just be the one we need.

What’s the role?

You’ll be the right-hand person for teaching staff—sometimes leading the whole class, sometimes running targeted interventions that make all the difference. You'll bring energy, structure, and that special something that helps students thrive, whether they need extra support or a little nudge to reach the next level.

A typical day might include:

  • Covering full lessons when the teacher’s away (with plans ready to go)
  • Supporting pupils across a range of needs—including SEN and EAL
  • Delivering small group catch-ups in literacy, numeracy or social skills
  • Teaming up with class teachers to assess progress and plan ahead
  • Providing pastoral support with a calm, confident presence

What we’re after:

  • HLTA status or equivalent qualification
  • Solid experience in KS1/KS2/KS3/KS4 (we’ll tailor to your strengths)
  • Strong classroom management and a can-do attitude
  • Great communication skills—you can build rapport with anyone
  • Someone who genuinely loves seeing children grow

What you’ll get:

  • A school that values its staff and gets the balance right
  • Regular CPD to keep your skills sharp
  • A welcoming, team-first environment
  • The chance to make a real impact—every single day
