Head of Drama – Secondary School (KS3–KS5)

We’re working with a vibrant and ambitious secondary school looking for a dynamic Head of Drama to lead their performing arts provision. You’ll bring creative vision, strong leadership, and a passion for theatre developing both the curriculum and the extra-curricular offer to ensure every student has the chance to shine.


About the Role

As Head of Drama, you’ll:

  • Lead and manage the Drama department, overseeing curriculum planning, delivery, and assessment across KS3–KS5

  • Teach inspiring lessons that develop students’ performance, devising, and analytical skills

  • Direct school productions and coordinate extra-curricular activities, clubs, and theatre trips

  • Mentor and support colleagues, sharing best practice and driving high standards

  • Promote the performing arts as a central part of school life and culture


About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Holds QTS and has significant experience teaching Drama across secondary key stages

  • Has a track record of strong student outcomes and innovative teaching

  • Is confident leading productions and extra-curricular programmes

  • Can inspire and motivate both staff and students

  • Has excellent organisational skills and a collaborative leadership style
