Head of Design Technology - Fully Qualified

£33,075 - £45,037 per annum
Job Duties:
- Lead and manage the Design Technology department
- Develop and implement the curriculum for design and technology subjects
- Provide guidance and support to teaching staff in delivering high-quality lessons
- Monitor and assess student progress and provide feedback for improvement
- Stay updated on educational trends and advancements in design technology
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance cross-curricular learning opportunities
- Oversee the department budget and resource allocation
- Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development activities
Required Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Degree in Design Technology or relevant field
- Proven experience in teaching design and technology subjects
- Demonstrated leadership skills in an educational setting
Education:
Degree in Design Technology or related field
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years teaching experience in design and technology
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong understanding of the national curriculum for design and technology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead and motivate a team of educators
- Proficient in IT tools and software relevant to design technology
- Organisational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Postgraduate qualification in Education Leadership
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment
Working Conditions:
The role involves working in a school environment, collaborating with students, teachers, and parents. Regular working hours with occasional evening or weekend commitments for school events and meetings.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
