Psychology Graduate and Student LSA / TA roles

As a Teaching Assistant (TA) or a Learning Support Assistant you’ll work closely with teachers to support young people in their learning, behaviour, and personal development. The role is varied: you might be helping a student one to one, supporting small groups, or assisting the whole class. Every day brings a new challenge and the chance to make a genuine difference.

This role is ideal for graduates who are looking for flexible, practical classroom experience before progressing into teaching, educational psychology, or other child-focused careers.

What the job looks like

• Supporting pupils’ learning in class and helping them achieve their potential

• Assisting students with additional needs, using patience, care, and encouragement 

• Managing behaviour in a calm and constructive way, in line with school policies

• Building strong relationships with staff and students alike

• Reporting progress and safeguarding concerns with professionalism and accuracy

What we’re looking for

• Psychology graduates or students with a passion for working with young people

• A calm, encouraging nature and the resilience to manage students with a calm, warm demeanour 

• Flexibility, a positive attitude, and a sense of humour (a classroom essential!)

• No prior school experience needed; just the drive to make a difference

• Work with children and teens is ideal, but not an essential for a driven candidate wanting to begin their career in education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
