Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School

Salary: Pay to Scale (Dependent on Experience)

About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School in Shropshire, supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will play a vital role in helping pupils access a rich, engaging curriculum tailored to their individual needs. Working closely with teachers and other professionals, you’ll support children to thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEN to aid their learning and development

  • Assist in delivering personalised learning plans tailored to individual needs

  • Support pupils in building confidence, communication skills, and independence

  • Help manage behaviour positively and inclusively

  • Maintain a safe, caring, and supportive classroom environment

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), or communication challenges is highly desirable

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic nature

  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

  • Good communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals
