Job Title: Part-Time French Teacher (0.6 FTE) – 1 Term Only
Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: 3 days per week (0.6 FTE), Fixed Term (Autumn Term)
Salary: £150–£220 per day (pro-rata, depending on experience)

Bonjour, new adventure.

We’re on the lookout for a fab French Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Wakefield this September—for 3 days a week across the autumn term.

The role is well-balanced: a lovely mix of KS3 and KS4, a helpful MFL department, and the kind of school where support is there when you need it and independence is respected.

If you’re after a bit more work-life balance (or time to finally finish that Duolingo streak), this could be the perfect fit.

Here’s what’s in store:

  • KS3 & KS4 French with a supportive team around you

  • Set planning and sensible marking expectations

  • Calm, organised school with friendly leadership

  • A 3-day week that still lets you do what you love—without the Sunday scaries

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has QTS and experience teaching French in UK secondary schools

  • Can build great rapport and bring a little joie de vivre to the classroom

  • Loves the language and can help pupils feel confident speaking it

  • Is reliable, warm, and happy to slot into an existing team

And in return, you’ll get:

  • Weekly PAYE pay (no umbrella faff)

  • FREE access to our CPD Academy

  • A friendly local consultant who knows the schools and speaks your language (well, at least the timetabling part )

  • Honest communication and roles that genuinely suit you

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
