Food Technology Teacher – Darlington

Location: Darlington, County Durham
Contract: Full-Time / Long-Term

Start Date: September 2025

Love food? Love teaching? Let’s cook up something great. ‍‍

We’re looking for a passionate and creative Food Technology Teacher to join a well-respected secondary school in Darlington. Whether you’re guiding Year 7s through their first flapjacks or helping GCSE students master their mise en place, you’ll be doing far more than teaching recipes—you’ll be inspiring future chefs, nutritionists, and maybe the odd Bake Off winner.

What’s in the mix:

  • Teaching KS3 and KS4 Food Technology with scope to get creative

  • Access to a well-equipped food tech kitchen

  • Supportive department with shared planning and resources

  • A welcoming, community-focused school with excellent student engagement

What we’re looking for:

  • UK QTS and secondary teaching experience (PGCEs welcome)

  • A love for practical teaching and a knack for engaging students

  • Experience with GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition (AQA or similar)

  • Strong classroom management and a sense of humour never hurts

Why this school?

Based in the heart of Darlington, this school is known for its inclusive ethos, hands-on learning environment, and a leadership team that genuinely supports its staff. It’s the kind of place where colleagues share recipes, not just lesson plans.
