Looking to Start a Career in Education? Opportunities in North Tyneside

Want to make a real difference in young people’s lives? Thinking about a career in education or just keen to work with 11–16 year olds in a meaningful role?

If you answered yes to any of those, this could be your ideal next step.

At Protocol Education, we’re helping schools across North Tyneside find brilliant Teaching Assistants, Learning Mentors, and general classroom support staff to give students the help they need to succeed. Whether you’re after full-time work or part-time hours to fit around your life, we’ve got roles starting right now.

Why are these roles so important?
After a tough few years for education, many students are still catching up. Schools are increasing 1:1 and small group support to help children thrive again—and that’s where you come in. You don’t need school experience to start—if you’ve worked with children or young people in any way before, those skills will go a long way.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting students in class, in small groups or 1:1

  • Helping students build confidence and re-engage with learning

  • Working alongside teachers and SENCOs to support lesson delivery

  • Contributing to a positive, safe, and happy classroom environment

  • Offering encouragement and reassurance to help students succeed

We’re Looking for People Who:

  • Are reliable, positive, and punctual

  • Work well as part of a team and independently

  • Have great interpersonal skills and confidence to engage students

  • Want to make a difference for children in North Tyneside schools

  • Might have experience in roles like nannying, youth work, care work, sports coaching—or just have a real passion for helping young people grow

What You’ll Get from Us:

  • Weekly pay through PAYE (no umbrella companies, no hidden fees)

  • Free CPD and online training to help you grow your skills

  • £50 referral bonus if you recommend a friend

  • Access to a wide range of local roles with supportive schools

  • Ongoing help and advice from our friendly North East team
