Job Title: Pastoral Teaching Assistant (Entry Level)
Location: North Tyneside
Salary: £83–£95 per day (PAYE – no umbrella fees)
Contract: Full-time | Long-Term | Term-time only
Start Date: September 2025

Help Children Feel Valued, Understood, and Ready to Grow

Are you a caring, patient, and thoughtful person who wants to make a difference in children’s lives? We're looking for an Entry-Level Pastoral Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in North Tyneside, supporting pupils with autism and communication needs.

This role is all about relationships—helping pupils feel seen, heard, and part of their school community. You’ll work alongside teachers, families, and therapists to make sure every child is supported not just academically, but emotionally and socially too.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Building strong, positive relationships with children who need consistency and care

  • Supporting pupils with autism and communication needs as they develop key social and emotional skills

  • Helping children engage with their peers, access learning, and take part in school life

  • Working collaboratively with staff and families to tailor support to each child’s needs

  • Celebrating milestones—big and small—and helping children feel proud of their progress

Our School’s Values

We believe that every child should:

  • Communicate and interact confidently with others and the world around them

  • Value themselves and others, showing kindness and tolerance

  • Become independent learners and active participants in school and community life

  • Lead safe, happy, and fulfilling lives

Who We’re Looking For

You don’t need years of experience—what matters most is your attitude. If you bring warmth, patience, and resilience to everything you do, you’ll be a brilliant fit.

You might be:

  • A recent graduate considering a career in education, care, or psychology

  • Someone with experience in youth work, childcare, or support settings

  • Or simply someone with a big heart and a steady hand

If you’ve had Thrive training, that’s a bonus—but if not, we’ll help you access it for free. Supporting emotional wellbeing is at the heart of what we do.

What You’ll Get Through Protocol Education

  • Weekly PAYE pay with no umbrella deductions

  • FREE access to CPD and emotional wellbeing training

  • Dedicated support from your local SEN specialist consultant

  • Opportunities to explore a variety of specialist settings if you wish

  • Referral rewards when you recommend someone great

If you're ready to be a steady, positive presence in a child's school journey, we’d love to hear from you.
