Our client, a forward-thinking secondary school within a respected academy trust, is seeking a committed English Teacher to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic practitioner who is determined to raise attainment and broaden opportunities through high-quality English education.

About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging English lessons that inspire students across all key stages.

  • Set high expectations for achievement and progress, ensuring all pupils are motivated and supported to reach their potential.

  • Plan and teach well-structured lessons that embed knowledge, develop skills, and address misconceptions.

  • Nurture intellectual curiosity by asking thoughtful questions and encouraging analytical thinking.

  • Provide constructive feedback that helps students make measurable progress.

  • Contribute to collaborative curriculum planning, assessment design, and exam preparation.

  • Play an active role in enrichment activities such as clubs, trips, competitions, and whole-school events.

  • Share best practice within the department and actively participate in CPD and trust-wide collaboration.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and eligibility to work in the UK.

  • A degree in English or a closely related discipline.

  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for English literature and language.

  • Evidence of excellent teaching practice and a commitment to raising attainment.

  • Experience of supporting students through curriculum and examination preparation.

  • Effective classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • A reflective, proactive approach to professional development.

  • A genuine passion for education and belief in the potential of every student.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
