English Graduate Teaching Assistants – Newcastle

£90–£120 per day (depending on experience)

We’re on the lookout for English Literature and Language graduates to support secondary schools in Newcastle as Teaching Assistants. You’ll help pupils find their voice, grow their confidence, and see the magic in words.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting English lessons, from classic texts to creative writing

  • Helping students develop literacy, comprehension, and analytical skills

  • Working 1:1 or with small groups to boost confidence and progress

  • Bringing your subject knowledge into classroom support and enrichment activities

What we’re looking for:

  • A degree in English Literature, English Language, or combined studies

  • Strong communication skills and a passion for language and learning

  • A proactive, positive approach to working with young people

  • Experience with tutoring, mentoring, or working in schools is helpful but not essential
