English Graduate Teaching Assistant

We’re recruiting for a dynamic and motivated Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school, working within the English department to support students with special educational needs (SEN). This is an ideal role for anyone considering a career in teaching—and looking to gain real classroom experience in a supportive setting.
What You’ll Be Doing:

Supporting students 1:1 and in small groups across English lessons

Helping adapt materials and boost understanding for pupils with additional needs

Assisting teachers with lesson prep, literacy tasks, and classroom routines

Encouraging engagement, progress, and confidence in reading and writing
You’ll work closely with teaching staff and SEN teams, learning from experienced educators and building a solid foundation for a future in teaching.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
