We’re looking for a trained and compassionate ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) to support pupils across primary schools in Lambeth. You’ll play a vital role in delivering targeted emotional support to pupils struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, bereavement, friendship issues, and more.
This is more than a support role—it’s about creating space for children to be heard, understood, and guided through the emotional bumps of growing up.
In this role, you’ll:

Deliver 1:1 and small group ELSA sessions tailored to pupils’ needs

Support with whole-school emotional wellbeing initiatives

Collaborate with SENCOs, pastoral staff, and parents to monitor progress

Provide a calm, nurturing presence during the school day
We’d love to hear from you if:

You’re ELSA trained, with a good understanding of emotional literacy

You’ve worked with children with SEMH needs or pastoral challenges

You’re confident building rapport, setting boundaries, and modelling emotional regulation

You hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service – or are happy to apply with our support

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
