You understand that sometimes, children need emotional safety before they’re ready to learn.

We’re looking for a trained and compassionate ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) to support pupils across primary schools in Lambeth. You’ll play a vital role in delivering targeted emotional support to pupils struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, bereavement, friendship issues, and more.

This is more than a support role—it’s about creating space for children to be heard, understood, and guided through the emotional bumps of growing up.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Deliver 1:1 and small group ELSA sessions tailored to pupils’ needs

  • Support with whole-school emotional wellbeing initiatives

  • Collaborate with SENCOs, pastoral staff, and parents to monitor progress

  • Provide a calm, nurturing presence during the school day

We’d love to hear from you if:

  • You’re ELSA trained, with a good understanding of emotional literacy

  • You’ve worked with children with SEMH needs or pastoral challenges

  • You’re confident building rapport, setting boundaries, and modelling emotional regulation

  • You hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service – or are happy to apply with our support

What you’ll get:

  • ✅ Weekly PAYE pay – no umbrella deductions

  • ✅ FREE CPD opportunities, including Thrive and behaviour support

  • ✅ Work in schools that prioritise pupil wellbeing

  • ✅ Support from a consultant who understands specialist roles

Your kindness could be the one thing that helps a child feel safe in school.
