ECT Maths Cover Teacher

Protocol Education are recruiting confident and proactive Early Career Maths Teachers to support secondary schools across South Bristol and North Somerset. This role gives you the chance to build your skills, confidence, and experience while working flexibly across different schools in convenient locations.
You’ll deliver pre-planned lessons when teachers are absent, keeping students engaged, motivated, and on track with their learning. Alongside valuable classroom experience, you’ll also be building relationships with schools across Bristol, giving you a strong network when applying for long-term or permanent teaching roles in the future.

What the job looks like

Delivering pre-planned maths lessons with confidence and enthusiasm

Inspiring motivation and maintaining strong student engagement and participation

Managing behaviour in line with school policies, with both consistency and warmth

Supporting students with encouragement and patience to keep learning on track

Collecting completed work and reporting back on progress for the classroom teacher
What we’re looking for

Maths ECTs (or experienced teachers) ready to gain valuable classroom experience

Strong subject knowledge and the ability to explain concepts clearly, check for understanding and support progress towards learning objectives

A positive, professional approach to behaviour management

Energy, flexibility, and a genuine interest in supporting young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
