About Us:

At Protocol Education, we work in partnership with inclusive and nurturing schools to place caring professionals in roles that make a real difference. We are currently seeking an Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant to support children with additional needs in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) settings.


The Role:

As an Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support children aged 3–5 with special educational needs such as Autism, speech and language delays, developmental delays, and other learning or physical needs. You’ll work closely with teachers and SENCOs to help deliver personalised support and care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the learning and development of pupils in EYFS with additional needs

  • Provide 1:1 or small group assistance tailored to each child’s specific requirements

  • Assist with speech and language, sensory play, motor skills, and structured routines

  • Help manage behaviour positively and sensitively

  • Deliver personal care as needed (full training provided)

  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment


What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working in Early Years settings or with SEND children

  • A nurturing, patient, and proactive attitude

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Knowledge of EYFS and SEND strategies is desirable

  • A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one

  • Right to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
