Job title: Criminology Graduate – Behaviour & Learning Support Assistant
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Pay: £90–£110 per day
Contract: Full-time or part-time

Got a criminology degree and a passion for understanding behaviour?

We’re looking for criminology graduates to join secondary schools across Newcastle as Learning Support Assistants. This role is all about helping young people stay engaged in lessons, manage behaviour, and build the confidence to succeed.

It’s ideal experience if you’re thinking about a career in youth work, social work, probation services, education or mental health.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting students who need extra help with behaviour and learning

  • Working 1:1 and in small groups to keep pupils focused and on track

  • Assisting teachers in creating a calm, safe and supportive classroom environment

  • Using your criminology knowledge to help understand different needs and approaches

What we’re looking for:

  • A degree in criminology (or a related subject)

  • Patience, empathy and confidence working with teenagers

  • Adaptability – no two days are the same

  • Experience with young people in schools, mentoring or community settings is a bonus
