Got a head for behaviour and a heart for helping? Criminology grads—we need you.

Secondary schools across Newcastle are on the lookout for Teaching Assistants, Pastoral Mentors, and Behaviour Support Staff who can help students stay on track and feel understood. It’s meaningful, challenging, and a great stepping stone to careers in youth justice, safeguarding, or education.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting pupils at risk of exclusion or disengagement

  • Helping students build positive routines and relationships

  • Working 1:1 or in small groups to boost confidence and behaviour

  • Gaining real experience in SEMH and trauma-informed settings

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
