Job Title: Cover Teacher – Modern Foreign Languages (MFL)

An ambitious and supportive secondary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Teacher for MFL for a full-time, short-term role starting this September. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about languages and cultural learning to support students' progress and ensure continuity during teacher absences.
You’ll be helping students stay on track in French and/or Spanish (or other taught languages) by delivering pre-set lessons, managing behaviour, and promoting a positive and engaging classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver pre-planned MFL lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

Encourage students to develop communication skills and cultural awareness

Manage classroom behaviour and create a purposeful learning atmosphere

Record attendance and report incidents or concerns to appropriate staff

Provide support and clarification during language activities

Be flexible and open to covering other subjects if required by the school
You’ll be a great fit if you:
-
Have experience in a secondary school or an education-related role
-
Possess strong subject knowledge in French, Spanish, or other MFL subjects
-
Are confident managing classrooms and working with varied student groups
-
Communicate clearly, stay calm under pressure, and lead lessons with confidence
-
Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or are willing to apply for one)

Are passionate about education and committed to students’ progress and wellbeing
