An ambitious and supportive secondary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Teacher for MFL for a full-time, short-term role starting this September. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about languages and cultural learning to support students' progress and ensure continuity during teacher absences.

You’ll be helping students stay on track in French and/or Spanish (or other taught languages) by delivering pre-set lessons, managing behaviour, and promoting a positive and engaging classroom environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre-planned MFL lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Encourage students to develop communication skills and cultural awareness

  • Manage classroom behaviour and create a purposeful learning atmosphere

  • Record attendance and report incidents or concerns to appropriate staff

  • Provide support and clarification during language activities

  • Be flexible and open to covering other subjects if required by the school


You’ll be a great fit if you:

  • Have experience in a secondary school or an education-related role

  • Possess strong subject knowledge in French, Spanish, or other MFL subjects

  • Are confident managing classrooms and working with varied student groups

  • Communicate clearly, stay calm under pressure, and lead lessons with confidence

  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or are willing to apply for one)

  • Are passionate about education and committed to students’ progress and wellbeing
