A well-regarded secondary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Teacher for Maths for a full-time, short-term role starting this September. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving and wants to help students stay on track with their mathematical understanding during staff absences.
You’ll deliver pre-set lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, managing behaviour, maintaining engagement, and providing basic guidance on mathematical concepts.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver pre-planned Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

Support students in understanding core mathematical principles
-
Create a calm, focused learning environment
-
Record attendance and report any concerns to relevant staff

Offer clarification on lesson content and encourage independent thinking

Be flexible to cover additional subjects if required
You’ll be a great fit if you:
-
Have experience working in secondary schools or educational roles
-
Have a degree or strong subject knowledge in Mathematics
-
Are confident with classroom management and engaging different learner groups
-
Communicate clearly, stay calm under pressure, and lead lessons with confidence
-
Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or are willing to apply for one)

Are committed to helping students grow in confidence and ability
