Looking to lead the classroom without the planning pressure? We’re recruiting confident and capable Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Shrewsbury.

In this role, you’ll step in when teachers are absent—keeping lessons on track, managing behaviour, and delivering set work with confidence. If you’re great with young people, can hold a room, and enjoy variety, this could be the perfect fit.

Your role at a glance:

  • Supervising KS3 and KS4 classes in the absence of the regular teacher

  • Managing behaviour calmly and effectively

  • Supporting pupils with additional needs to stay engaged

  • Building positive relationships with students and staff

  • Delivering provided lesson plans—no marking or prep needed

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Right to work in the UK (British Passport or BRP + Share Code)

  • Overseas Police Check (if applicable)

  • Experience working with young people or in schools

  • Strong behaviour management and adaptability

  • A positive, proactive mindset

You’ll need to be able to get around the Shrewsbury area, either by car or reliable public transport. All teaching materials are provided and lessons follow the National Curriculum.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
