Reference: mbcsw
Salary: £100 - 120 per day
Job Published: about 3 hours ago

We’re supporting a welcoming and forward-looking secondary school in Telford that’s on the lookout for a Cover Supervisor to step in and keep lessons running smoothly when teachers are away.

If you enjoy working with young people and want to experience the buzz of the classroom without lesson planning, this could be the role for you.

What the role involves

  • Delivering pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects

  • Keeping students engaged, focused, and on task

  • Managing classroom behaviour with calm consistency

  • Supporting pupils and staff across the school day

What we’re looking for

  • Experience working with young people (in or out of school)

  • Confidence in leading a group and setting clear boundaries

  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional manner

  • Organised, adaptable, and quick-thinking

  • A genuine interest in helping students succeed

This role could be perfect if you’ve worked as a youth worker, coach, or TA—or if you’re considering teaching and want hands-on classroom experience first.

About the school

This is a dynamic, supportive school with a clear vision: ASPIRE, ENJOY, ACHIEVE. Staff and students work together in a culture that’s safe, respectful, and ambitious.

  • ASPIRE – students are encouraged to do their very best, with staff providing challenge and support so every individual can succeed.

  • ENJOY – learning is engaging, broad, and enriched with exciting opportunities beyond the classroom.

  • ACHIEVE – high expectations and excellent outcomes mean students leave confident and ready for the future.

The ethos is underpinned by the Ready, Respectful, Safe approach, with character virtues like resilience, courage, honesty, and empathy at the heart of school life. It’s a positive, inclusive place to learn and work—with staff wellbeing taken seriously and students encouraged to be curious, confident, and ambitious.
