We're looking for confident, classroom-savvy people to step into secondary schools across Barnsley, keeping lessons running smoothly when teachers are away. No planning. No marking. Just you, a classroom, and your ability to keep things ticking along nicely.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supervising pre-set lessons in the absence of the class teacher

  • Managing classroom behaviour and keeping students engaged

  • Delivering a positive learning environment—your style, your flair

  • Reporting back on the day’s progress

You’ll need:

  • Experience working with young people (in schools, youth work, coaching or similar)

  • A calm, friendly manner and strong behaviour management

  • A flexible approach and quick-thinking attitude

  • Confidence to lead a room solo—we’ve got your back

Teaching qualification not required—we’ll provide full support and training to get you classroom-ready.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
