Protocol Education is currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Shrewsbury. This role is ideal for individuals who are confident working with young people and are looking to gain valuable classroom experience in a flexible and rewarding setting.
As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning in the absence of the regular class teacher. You’ll deliver pre-set work, manage classroom behaviour, and ensure students remain engaged and focused, no lesson planning or marking required.
Your responsibilities will include:

Supervising classes across Key Stages 3 and 4 during teacher absence

Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies

Supporting pupils, including those with additional needs, to stay on task

Building positive relationships with students and school staff

Ensuring the smooth delivery of lessons using provided plans and materials
We are looking for candidates with:

Right to work in the UK (British passport or BRP and Share Code)

An Overseas Police Check (if applicable)

Previous experience working with young people, ideally in a school or youth setting

Strong communication and behaviour management skills

A calm, adaptable, and professional approach to classroom supervision
Desirable but not essential:

Any relevant qualifications or experience in education or child development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
