Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools (Newcastle & Northumberland)

Pay: £100–£120 per day (roughly £500–£600 a week for 5 days, paid weekly via PAYE)

Thinking about a career in teaching? This could be your perfect starting point.

We’re looking for enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Newcastle and Northumberland.

You’ll step into classrooms when teachers are absent, keep lessons running smoothly and gain brilliant experience of school life – all while being supported and trained by us.

It’s a great way to see if teaching is for you, and schools often invite strong Cover Supervisors back for more regular work.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Delivering pre-set work to classes when teachers are away

  • Keeping lessons on track and behaviour positive

  • Building confidence managing groups of students

  • Gaining first-hand experience in the classroom

What we’re looking for:

  • Graduates or confident individuals with transferable skills (coaching, mentoring, youth work, etc.)

  • Someone who’s organised, reliable and happy to lead a class

  • No teaching qualification needed – just enthusiasm and a can-do approach

What you’ll get from us:

  • £100–£120 per day (£500–£600 a week), paid weekly – no umbrella faff

  • FREE Thrive training to strengthen your CV (schools love this!)

  • Friendly, local consultant support

  • The chance to build school experience that often leads to teacher training

Fancy stepping into the classroom and getting paid to see what teaching is really like?
