Job Title: BSL Teaching Assistant – Specialist Setting
Location: Newcastle-upon-Tyne
Contract: Full-time, Long-Term

Salary: £89–£100 per day (PAYE – no umbrella companies)

This warm, welcoming specialist setting in Newcastle is on the lookout for a brilliant BSL-trained Teaching Assistant to support children with complex needs, including hearing impairments and ASD.
You’ll be part of a nurturing team that genuinely understands the power of communication, and you'll be key in helping pupils thrive both in and out of the classroom.
What your day might look like:

1:1 or small group support using BSL

Helping pupils navigate routines and engage in lessons

Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and therapists

Creating a calm, supportive learning space that helps students shine
What we’re looking for:

BSL Level 1 or above
-
Experience supporting children or young people with SEND
-
A calm, confident presence and lots of patience

Someone ready to roll up their sleeves and make a real difference
