The Role
We’re looking for a compassionate and skilled BSL Teaching Assistant to support pupils with hearing impairments and additional learning needs. You’ll be working closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and external specialists to make sure pupils can fully participate in lessons and school life.
Your role will include:

Providing in-class support through British Sign Language (minimum Level 1 required)

Supporting communication between pupils, teachers, and peers

Helping adapt resources and lessons for accessible learning

Offering one-to-one or small group interventions

Encouraging independence, confidence, and social interaction

Working as part of a wider team to ensure consistency and progress
What We’re Looking For
You’ll be a strong match if you:

Hold a minimum of BSL Level 2 (Level 3 or above is highly desirable)

Have experience supporting pupils with hearing impairments, ideally within a school setting

Are patient, adaptable, and committed to inclusive practice

Can work effectively with teachers, therapists, and parents
