Behaviour Support Worker – South Shields

Protocol Education is working in partnership with a specialist setting in South Shields, supporting students with a range of social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, behavioural challenges, and additional learning difficulties. We are looking to appoint a Behaviour Support Worker to join their dedicated and nurturing team.
Key Responsibilities:

Supporting individual pupils and small groups to stay engaged and make progress

Helping to manage and de-escalate incidents of challenging behaviour

Promoting emotional wellbeing, self-regulation and positive choices
-
Building strong, trusting relationships with students based on consistency and respect

Working alongside teachers and therapists to deliver tailored interventions
Ideal Candidate:
-
Previous experience working with young people in a school, care or community setting
-
Strong understanding of behaviour management and safeguarding practices
-
Resilient, proactive and committed to inclusive education
-
Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
-
Training in de-escalation or behaviour support (e.g. Team Teach) is beneficial

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
