Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant – SEN Focus

Are you calm, resilient and great under pressure? We're looking for confident and patient Behaviour Support TAs to work with pupils who need extra help managing behaviour and emotions – either in mainstream schools or alternative provisions across Harlow & West Essex

This is an ideal role for those with a background in youth work, sports coaching, mentoring, or residential care.

 

The role:

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support for pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs)

  • Help manage challenging behaviour using trauma-informed approaches

  • Use de-escalation strategies and build positive relationships

  • Support learning both inside and outside of the classroom

 

You’ll bring:

  • Previous experience with challenging behaviour or vulnerable young people

  • Resilience, emotional intelligence, and a non-judgmental attitude

  • A calm, proactive approach and excellent communication skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
