Behaviour Support Mentor – Gateshead
Specialist SEMH Setting | Full-Time | September Start
We’re looking for a confident, caring Behaviour Support Mentor to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) provision in Gateshead this September.
This is a school that believes in creating a supportive, understanding environment where positive relationships are key, emotional wellbeing is prioritised, and every young person is given the chance to succeed.

Your role will include:

Supporting pupils with SEMH needs, both one-to-one and in small groups

Helping pupils manage behaviour positively, using restorative and trauma-informed approaches

Building trusting relationships and acting as a consistent, reliable presence

Working alongside teachers, pastoral teams, and external agencies to support individual needs
We’re looking for someone who:

Has experience working with challenging behaviour, SEMH, or in a pastoral support role

Brings a calm, empathetic, and confident approach to every situation

Understands the value of positive relationships and emotional regulation
-
Is available full-time from September

Is Thrive trained, or willing to complete this through Protocol Education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
