Job Title: Behaviour Support Assistant – Primary
Location: Wakefield
Salary: £85–£95 per day (PAYE)
Contract: Full-time, Long-Term
Start Date: September 2025 (or sooner if you’re raring to go)

Got a steady head and a kind heart? This school could do with someone just like you.

We’re after a cracking Behaviour Support Assistant to join a friendly primary school in Wakefield. It’s the sort of place where staff look out for each other, and the kids thrive on routine, patience, and a bit of firm-but-fair support.

You’ll be the calm in the storm—working 1:1 or in small groups with pupils who need a steady hand and someone they can trust. Some days will be lively (to say the least), but if you’ve got that knack for de-escalating situations and making children feel safe, this role’s right up your street.

Your day-to-day:

  • Supporting pupils with behavioural needs, both in and out the classroom

  • Helping to keep lessons on track with a bit of quiet encouragement

  • Putting structure in place and cheering on the small wins

  • Working closely with teachers and SENCOs to keep things consistent

Who we’re looking for:

  • Someone with experience in behaviour support, SEN, or youth work

  • A cool head under pressure and a genuine care for young people

  • Someone who can set clear boundaries but still make 'em smile

  • Ideally, someone who’s Thrive trained—or keen to get stuck into it (we’ll sort the training, no worries)

What you’ll get from us:

  • Weekly PAYE pay – no umbrella faff

  • Free CPD, including Thrive training

  • Supportive local consultant who knows the area

  • A chance to work in a school where your presence really matters

Fancy it? Give us a bell or pop in an application today. Let’s get you where you’re needed.
