We’re working with specialist college in Croydon that supports young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, often alongside behavioural challenges and trauma.
They’re looking for a strong, steady presence in the classroom—someone who can build trust, hold boundaries, and offer calm in the chaos. Whether you’ve worked in PRUs, youth work, or just know how to hold your own and show up for young people—this is where your skillset matters.
The role includes:

Supporting students with high levels of SEMH and behaviour needs

Helping pupils regulate emotions, stay on task, and feel safe

Building long-term, trust-based relationships

Working closely with behaviour leads and specialist staff

Modelling calm responses and setting consistent expectations
We’re looking for someone who:

Has experience in youth work, SEMH settings, or behaviour support

Can hold professional boundaries while remaining compassionate
-
Stays calm under pressure and adapts quickly
-
Is physically confident, emotionally resilient, and ready to step in where needed

Wants to make a difference in the lives of young people often overlooked

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
