Ready to be the difference for a young person who needs you?
This could be that moment.
We’re working with a brilliant secondary school in Telford that’s on the lookout for a compassionate, can-do Learning Mentor to join their specialist support team.
This isn’t just about behaviour support. It’s about helping students believe in themselves, feel safe at school, and stay on track—both academically and emotionally.
What you’ll be doing:
-
Working one-to-one and in small groups with students who need a steady, encouraging presence
-
Building trust and helping pupils feel seen, heard, and supported
-
Coming up with creative ways to boost confidence and motivation
-
Teaming up with teachers and staff to give students the wraparound care they need
-
Celebrating the little wins—because they matter just as much as the big ones
What we’re looking for:
-
Someone who’s worked with young people before (in or out of school settings)
-
Resilience, empathy, and a calm approach to tricky days
-
A positive, no-judgement attitude—and a real belief in every student’s potential
-
Great at building rapport and staying organised
Bonus points if you have:
-
A degree in a related field (Youth Work, Psychology, Education)
-
TA Level 2 or 3 qualification
-
Mental health, Thrive, or behaviour support training (And if not? We can sort that—our CPD Academy has free Thrive training to get you started!)
Why you’ll love this role:
-
You’ll be part of a school that truly values support staff and student wellbeing
-
You’ll make a real difference, every single day
-
Weekly PAYE pay (no umbrella faff here!)
-
Free access to Protocol’s CPD Academy—including Thrive, safeguarding, and more
